If you're not from Houston, you're probably wondering what all the talk about apartments "inside the loop" means. Basically "the loop" refers to 610 - which makes a giant loop around the entire city. There is a smaller part of the loop that runs from 610 South to I-10 that most people are actually referring to- this area includes Downtown, Midtown, Medical Center, Upper Kirby, Memorial Heights, Montrose/Museum District, etc. These areas are all convenient to one another without having to fight traffic on the freeways and the properties here put their residents in a more central, convenient location than in other parts of the city. Prices do tend to be a bit higher than you'll find out in the suburbs, with prices per square foot running more, but it may be worth it to you!
