If you’re gluten-free, Houston has a host of resources for you to help you maintain your lifestyle. As a Houston apartment finder, we’re frequently asked about dining options and grocery stores in the areas where our clients are searching. This week, we’re giving you a list of resources for those who maintain a gluten-free lifestyle.
Being gluten-free in Houston isn’t difficult. We’re a pretty savvy city when it comes to specialty grocery stores and restaurants that are conscious of dietary restrictions. There’s a great business called Gluten-Free Houston where you can place orders for gluten-free foods online and have them delivered straight to your door. There is also the Houston Celiacs Support Group if you’re looking for a formalized group with which to share ideas.
For dining, Urban Spoon has a consistently updates list of Houston gluten-free restaurants (and this makes picking a restaurant a snap if you’re one of our apartment search clients new to the area). B4-U-Eat also publishes an extensive list of Houston restaurants with gluten-free menu items (we think this is one of the most comprehensive lists out there!).
And here’s the score of all scores when it comes to maintaining a gluten-free lifestyle in Houston. A list of grocers who carry specialty gluten-free items. Grocery stores have come a long way since the 80s and 90s, offering more choices and addressing special dietary needs. With all of the shopping choices, our apartment search clients can use this list to not only find specialty grocers (which are everywhere these days) for their Houston gluten-free living needs, but those that are more likely to offer healthier choices – no matter where you want to live.
