Any apartment in Houston can be utilized by students, of course there are certain properties that are more convenient to the school you may be attending or offer certain amenities that are important to you. For students, sometimes budget is the most important concern and for others it may be transportation to school. We can find a small studio/efficiency for those students wanting to live alone and who don’t require alot of space or spacious 2 and 3 bedroom units for roommates.
Most students attending UT Health Science Center, Baylor College of Medicine, Rice University, University of Houston, or Texas Southern University all find that apartments near the Houston Medical Center are convenient and offer options in all price ranges and amenities.
The most popular time for students to move in to apartments is obviously right before the fall semester is beginning at the end of summer. It is important to try to begin your search for student apartments in the spring and get on some properties’ waiting list for a move-in in late summer or early fall. By putting down a deposit (which is sometimes refundable) for an apartment- usually not more than about $400, the property will place you on their waiting list for the floorplan and/or unit you are interested in. In most cases, the apartments are able to satisfy everyone on their waiting list because they will stop taking waiting list applications when they feel they may have a problem placing people. However, if you find out late in the summer that you will be attending a school in Houston, please do not hesitate to call us because we get notices from apartment complexes when they receive a cancellation on a unit or one becomes available for any other reason.
